What is Commvault Threat Scan?
Scans backup data for malware, encrypted files and unusual changes, so you can find the last clean copy before you restore.

What it does
Restoring infected data puts the attacker straight back in. Threat Scan checks backup copies for malware and for files that have been encrypted or corrupted, and flags unusual changes such as a sudden jump in changed or renamed files.
Its results feed recovery: pick a clean point to restore, or let Synthetic Recovery assemble one from the clean versions across several backups.
