Commvault decoder/Cyber recovery
What is Commvault Auto Recovery?
Commvault's disaster recovery orchestration: it replicates systems to a recovery site and automates failover, failback and recovery testing.

What it does
Backups get data back; disaster recovery gets systems running somewhere else, fast. Auto Recovery replicates production systems to a recovery site, continuously or on a schedule, and orchestrates failover when you need it and failback when the primary site is ready.
It also runs recovery tests in isolated environments, with scripts before and after recovery for checks such as malware scans, so you can prove recovery times without disrupting production.
Key facts
- Continuous or periodic replication; Commvault cites sub-minute recovery points.
- Hot sites for near-zero recovery time, or a lower-cost warm-site option.
- Integrates with storage snapshots (IntelliSnap) and NAS.
How KELYN helps
KELYN sets recovery targets with you, builds the plan and tests it.

- Commvault CleanroomAn isolated recovery environment, created on demand, where you test cyber recovery, investigate an attack and restore clean systems without touching production. Formerly Cleanroom Recovery.
- Cloud RewindRecovers whole cloud applications on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud to a point in time, rebuilding their configuration as well as their data. It came from Commvault's 2024 acquisition of Appranix.
- CommServeThe CommServe is the central server of a Commvault environment. It schedules and tracks every job and holds the database of configuration, security and backup history, so no restore can start without it.
