Commvault decoder/Data security
What is Commvault Data Access Manager?
Controls who can query which data in databases, data warehouses and AI pipelines, masking or filtering sensitive fields as they're queried. It came from Commvault's 2025 acquisition of Satori Cyber.

What it does
As more teams and AI tools query company data, controlling access table by table stops working. Data Access Manager sits between users and data stores and applies policies at query time: masking fields, filtering rows and granting short-term access when someone needs it, without changing schemas or applications.
Commvault markets it as Data Access Manager (Satori), keeping the acquired company's name alongside its own.
Key facts
- Dynamic masking, row-level security and just-in-time access.
- Continuous discovery and classification of sensitive data, with audit logging.
