What is Commvault Cloud?
Commvault's platform for backup, recovery and cyber resilience across on-premises systems, SaaS apps and the major clouds. It replaced the separate Metallic brand in 2023.

What it does
Commvault Cloud is the name for everything Commvault sells. Before November 2023, Commvault's SaaS products were sold under the Metallic brand and its software as a separate line; Commvault Cloud brought them under one name. "Metallic" survives only in "Metallic AI", Commvault's name for the AI features in the platform.
The same platform can run three ways: as SaaS hosted by Commvault, as software you install and run in your own data center or cloud account, or as a mix of both managed from one console. Capabilities such as AirGap, Cleanroom, Cloud Rewind and Threat Scan are parts of Commvault Cloud rather than separate products.

- Managed through Command Center and the newer Commvault Console, which gives one view across SaaS and self-run environments.
- Covers on-premises servers and databases, virtual machines, Kubernetes, SaaS apps such as Microsoft 365 and Salesforce, and AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
- Commvault Cloud Unity was the November 2025 platform release, not a separate product.
